British American Insurance Company maintains an active involvement in the community through a number of commitments to charitable organizations and an on-going consumer education programme as well as donations to worthy causes.
Charities
British American supports the Cancer Society of The Bahamas through its support of initiatives including:

- Annual Christmas Tree –Lighting Ceremony
- Annual Health Walks
In recent years British American Insurance Company has also committed funds and assistance to the LINKS organization and their efforts to establish a Safe House for women in crisis. The Safe House was officially opened in 2005. British American Insurance has contributed more than $100,000 to LINKS over the past five years.

BA Headstart – a programme targeting primary school children that is designed to teach and reinforce the habit of saving from an early age The Program now operates in three primary schools:

Dreams – a women’s investment group consisting of more than 500 members that aims to help women Develop Real Economic and Money Management Skills. This programme allows investors to pool their resources via annuities for a higher returns and educates members about savings, investment and business opportunities through high-powered quarterly seminars, newsletters and networking opportunities.

Midsummer Night School – a major annual event comprising a one night series of free money management seminars by experts on a wide range of financial topics. This event is held on the grounds of British American Headquarters for one evening during the summer and is open to the general public
